How To Make WINE
This is a very basic way to make wine. It uses ingredients from the
grocery store. Except for the yeast.(You can use bread yeast & it will
work & taste fine but wine yeast will make it taste more like regular store
bought wine.) & alot fresher!!
What you will need!!
1. 1 Gallon 100% juice
2. 3.5 to 4# sugar
3. 1 Gallon water
4. Wine Yeast(bread yeast will do)
5. Pot at least 1.5 to 2 gallon
6. Container to ferment in(1 gallon
jugs will work)
7. Air lock(balloons will work)

Put juice in fridge for a few hours
to help cool the boiled water



1. Put 1 gallon of water into pot & get to a boil

2. Add sugar while stirring.

3. While sugar water is boiling for 15 minutes
Sanitize fermenter, funnel, airlock & stopper.
& anything else that will touch the wine.
Just put some in & splash it around 2 or 3
times for a few seconds. If you don't have
sanitizer use a weak solution of bleach
water(Be careful with bleach & rinse
thoroughly) & rinse with very hot tap water.(A
no rinse sanitizer is easier & less chance of
contamination.(but keep it simple for now)

4. Put pot(Very hot- Be careful) into sink &
fill sink with cold water. Put thermometer into
pot if you have one.(If not cool until it is cool
to touch(about 70)
Add ice to water in sink if you have some to
speed up cooling.

5. Once water is down under 150(120 would
be better) Add juice if the pot is big enough &
cool to 70.(or cool water to 90, add juice &
boiled water to fermenter.)

6. Take a sample for a gravity reading if you
have a hydrometer(no big deal if you don't)

7. Add yeast onto must(it is now called must
at this point)let it soak in on its own. They
need to rehydrate. (You can rehydrate in some
boiled(& cooled) sugar water before you add
it or make a starter a couple days
before.(more advanced stuff-keep it simple for
now)

7. Add sanitized airlock & stopper.
Fill the airlock with sanitizer or vodka.
You can also poke a few pinholes in a balloon
& put that on top of the fermenter or water
jugs!!

8. Let ferment for 2 weeks at 60-70 degrees &
rack to another fermenter( or water
jugs(sanitized) 2 more weeks & bottle or rack
to more jugs.
